Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may optionally provide a phone number, profile photo, and bio.
• Messages: When you participate in community channels or direct messages, we store the content of your messages to facilitate communication among volunteers.
• Course Progress: We track which course modules you have completed, quiz scores, and certificate status to support your learning journey.
• Feedback: If you submit feedback through the App or Portal, we collect the content of your submission.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.
• Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your device token to deliver notifications about messages, announcements, and events.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App and Portal
• Create and manage your volunteer account
• Deliver the Leadership Development Course content
• Facilitate community messaging and direct messages among volunteers
• Send push notifications about messages, announcements, and events
• Track your course progress and issue completion certificates
• Respond to your feedback and support requests
• Ensure the security and integrity of our platform

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use Supabase for database hosting and authentication, and Resend for transactional email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.
• Within the Community: Your name and profile photo are visible to other approved volunteers within the App and Portal. Messages you send in community channels are visible to other channel members.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Row-level security policies on all database tables
• Role-based access controls
• Admin approval required before new users can access the platform

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information through your profile settings
• Update your name, email, bio, and profile photo at any time

• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

Children's Privacy

Our App and Portal are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@nehmiyah.org.

Content Moderation

Our platform includes community messaging features. Users can report inappropriate messages and block other users. Foundation administrators review reported content and may take action including removing messages or suspending accounts. For content moderation concerns, contact info@nehmiyah.org.

Third-Party Services

The App streams video content from YouTube. When you watch course videos, YouTube's privacy policy applies to that interaction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
